Can anyone summarize their experience (positive or negative)with resistance bands as they relate to TKD and/or guide me to some articles on this? Which exercises are most useful (e.g., flies, military press)? Thank you very much.

Hi Neal
I have used resistance bands in the past in the quest for increased hand speed and punching power and did see some results with myself and my students. Wrap the band around your body under you armpits making sure the band is tight enough to make resistance and throw your punching combinations
you can also get ripcord bands that you attach to your feet, these are fixed on the ground or from a wall and can aid in developing power in kicking and increased flexibility.
Give it some time and I'm sure you will see some results

Jason:
Great. Thanks. How about use of bands as a substitute for a traditional dumbbell/barbell workout--biceps curls, pectoral flies, lateral raises, lat pulls, etc.? I have read that traditional strength training is a good idea for TKD, and I have been experimenting with bands for this since "pumping iron" is a bit hard on my 50-year-old frame. By the way, I use the so-called superslow technique most of the time--10 seconds on the positive with 5 seconds on the negative.

Hard to strenghen the body as a unit with bands but you can perform isolation exercises with them.
